Previous Work

Basic (2018)

The company investigated how various needs manifest, resonate, and affect the body. Loosely borrowing from Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the duo were interested in exploring the differences between individual experience of need and what could be universal. Presented at Drove IV.

Basic, Work in Progress (2018)

Presented at the LEVYsalon.

Salem, 1984 (2017)

Thoughts on the bewitching hour in collaboration with composer Christopher Whitely. Presented at West Wave Dance Festival 26 at the Community Music Center.

Illuminati (2017)

With an interest in how to challenge and inspect the ways that mysticism and the inevitable interact, Chlo & Co Dance tackled space: big and little, orbits, sound, weight and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Presented at the Drove.

21 First Moves Feat Chloë (2017)

21 classic opening moves for the professional dancer. Presented at the Drove.

Grim Girls, Appearing Tonight As (2016)

Facing transition and challenged by the pace and expectations of the city, Courtney and Chloë continually found conversations reflecting on what fun is and how, why, and when it occurs. Presented at the Drove, the new work and additional vignettes responded to their awareness that there may not be a single answer.

Sorrow Sisters (2016)

Womb Women (2016)

Melancholy Millennials (2016)

Medial Prefrontal Cortex (2016)

Consistent motion, lift, rhythms of falling in sync wit/against cyclical pattern.
Response to the Negev Wheel by Ned Kahn. Performed at The Contemporary Jewish Museum and the LEVYSalon.

Non-Concentric Circles (2015)

Presented at the Drove, this work is based entirely on material that was generated when Courtney and Chloë were separated by two state lines for a series of weeks. With a generative process structured around developing material each week and recording thoughts each day, the piece seeks to discover how two independent bodies of material can integrate and relate after experiencing distance.

Slow Drip (2015)

Tech zen: direct/indirect, external/internal, faster/slower

Sleepy Jeans (2015)

A November morning structured improv on the rooftop, and lots of jean.

Whiskey (2015)

Physicality: to be sad and happy: a one-to-one.

If A Goldfish Fell In The Forest… (2014)

If no one were here to see, would two women talk or drink their tea?

Bleu (2014)

Filmed while studying abroad in Bologna, Italy and Paris, France.
